The VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022, Vietnam's leading professional race, is expected to return to its traditional venue at the Hoan Kiem Lake area and be held on Oct 16.

The VPBank Hanoi Marathon, with its October 2018 debut and which is Hanoi's official marathon, will soon announce prizes to encourage professional runners from the national team as well as runners from running clubs nationwide to set new marathon records.

After having to postpone the race date twice, move the venue to My Dinh National Sports Complex and reduce significantly the number of runners to ensure safety amid the pandemic, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 took place on March 6, 2022, having successfully tested the running track reserved for the 31st SEA Games' marathon.

Looking forward, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022 will be pleased to welcome runners to join many exciting and impressive events in the must-see festival for the Vietnamese running community in Hanoi's autumn this October.

Held annually since 2018, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become Hanoi’s official race and won recognition to be a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) since 2019, with a running track standardized by AIMS experts and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. Runners’ results are recognized to qualify for the prestigious Boston Marathon. The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors, counting from 2022.
