Long Bien Bridge Selected as the Official Heritage Symbol of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race 2026

The event village for the 2026 edition will be located at Thong Nhat Park, a central venue that provides convenient access to Hanoi’s culturally and historically significant race routes while enhancing both the athlete experience and event operations.

One of the most notable additions to the 2026 edition is the introduction of the Corporate Cup, a brand-new competition created exclusively for the business community. The winning team will receive an exclusive opportunity to participate in the Standard Chartered Shanghai 10KM Run in Shanghai, China, further expanding international networking opportunities within the global running community.

A major highlight of this year’s event is the selection of Long Bien Bridge as the official heritage symbol of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race 2026. With more than a century of history, the iconic bridge represents not only the heritage and memories of Vietnam’s capital but also the event’s vision of connecting the past with the present, sports with culture and tourism, and the Vietnamese community with friends from around the world.

In addition, accompanying activities such as the Race Expo, Leaders Run, and various networking programs will continue to be organized, creating opportunities for businesses, organizations, and running enthusiasts to connect while contributing to the continued growth of Vietnam’s marathon community.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tri Man, Strategy and Market Development Director of the event, emphasized that the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race aims not only to deliver a professional and safe race where athletes can pursue their personal bests but also to serve as a platform for promoting positive values, including healthy lifestyles, unity, and environmental responsibility.

Continuing its commitment to sustainable development, the Organizing Committee also unveiled the official race apparel for the 2026 edition, manufactured using fibers made from recycled materials. This initiative contributes to reducing plastic waste, encouraging responsible consumption, and supporting Vietnam’s commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Alongside the sporting competition, the event will continue implementing a range of community initiatives. Among them is the “Donate Your Old Running Shoes – Share the Joy” campaign, encouraging runners to donate their used running shoes. After being cleaned and refurbished, the shoes will be distributed to children and disadvantaged communities across Vietnam.

The Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race enters its third season with expectations of attracting a large number of domestic and international participants.

Ms. Trinh Nhu Quynh, Member of the Organizing Committee and Head of Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Brand at Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam, stated: “As the Title Sponsor, Standard Chartered is committed to encouraging people to improve their health, develop discipline, and push beyond their personal limits, while fostering a connected, dynamic, and sustainable community through sport.”

Notably, the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race continues to be an official member race of the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group Ranking System. Athletes’ official race results will be recognized for qualification purposes toward entry into races within the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors series, including the Boston Marathon, Tokyo Marathon, London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon, TCS New York City Marathon, and the Sydney Marathon.
