(Nhandan.vn) – On 22 July, the Organizing Committee of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race officially announced details of the 2026 edition, with the main race day scheduled for 8 November.

Entering its third year, the event continues to connect Vietnam’s running community with the international marathon community while promoting the values of health, inclusivity, sustainable development, and pride in Hanoi’s heritage.
The event will take place from 6 – 8 November 2026, with the main race on 8 November 2026, featuring the following distances: Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.0975km), 10km, 5km, and the 2.1km Kid Dash for children.
The event village for the 2026 edition will be located at Thong Nhat Park, a central venue that provides runners with convenient access to Hanoi’s culturally and historically significant race routes while enhancing both the race experience and operational efficiency.
One of the most notable new features of the 2026 edition is the introduction of the Corporate Cup – a competition held for the first time exclusively for the business community. The champion team will receive a trip to Shanghai to participate in the Standard Chartered Shanghai 10km Run and connect with the international running community. In addition, activities such as the Race Expo, Leaders Run, and various networking programs within the event framework will continue to foster collaboration among businesses, organizations, and the running community.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Tri Man, Strategy and Market Development Director of DHA Vietnam – the event owner and organizer – stated: “Sports in general, and running in particular, represent a healthy lifestyle. Through the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race, we are committed not only to delivering a safe and successful race where runners can achieve their personal bests, but also to using this event as a platform to promote and connect positive values such as civility, unity, and environmental sustainability.”

Continuing its commitment to sustainable development, the Organizing Committee also unveiled the 2026 official race apparel, manufactured using fibers derived from recycled materials. This initiative helps reduce plastic waste, encourages responsible consumption, and supports Vietnam’s Net Zero emissions target by 2050.
In addition, this year’s race has selected Long Bien Bridge as the official heritage symbol of the event. The image of the historic bridge will appear on the official race apparel as well as the finisher medal. It represents not only the cultural depth and urban memory of Hanoi but also the spirit of connection—between the past and the present, between sports, culture and tourism, and between the Vietnamese community and international friends.
The 2026 edition will also continue implementing a number of community-focused initiatives. The “Donate Your Old Running Shoes – Share the Joy” program encourages runners to donate used running shoes, which will be cleaned before being given to children and disadvantaged people across various localities.
The “Light Up the Course” program will continue supporting visually impaired runners by connecting them with guide runners and developing appropriate support solutions. These initiatives help spread the values of sharing, inclusion, and equal access to sports for everyone.
Ms. Trinh Nhu Quynh, Director of Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Brand at Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and a member of the Organizing Committee, shared: “Through the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race, as the Title Sponsor, we aim to encourage people to improve their health, endurance, discipline, and determination to push beyond their limits. These are essential values for building a prosperous community and achieving sustainable development.”
The Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race is a member race of the Age Group Ranking System under the Abbott World Marathon Majors. Runners’ official results at the event will be recognized as qualifying performances for entry into any of the seven Abbott World Marathon Majors, including the prestigious Boston Marathon, as well as the Tokyo, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York City, and the newest member, the Sydney Marathon.
