The Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race took place from November 7-9, attracting a large number of domestic and international runners.
On November 7, the Opening Ceremony of the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race 2025 took place at the Hanoi Quan Ngua Sports Palace.
On the same day, the Expo – the curtain-raiser of the race season – officially opened, attracting a large number of runners, visitors, and sports enthusiasts.

Ms.Nguyen Thuy Hanh – Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Vietnam, shared: “We are proud that the race has grown into an international sporting event that connects communities and promotes the spirit of sportsmanship and healthy living. It also stands as a testament to the Bank’s longstanding commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility throughout more than a century of presence in Vietnam.”
This year’s edition recorded remarkable growth, welcoming 2,500 international runners from nearly 70 countries – almost double the figure in 2024. This milestone reinforces its position as the race with the largest number of international participants in Vietnam, while highlighting the strong global appeal of Vietnam’s marathon movement.
The race takes place over three days, from November 7 to 9. On November 8, runners compete in the 5km (adults) and 2.1km (children’s) distances, followed by the 42km and 21km races on November 9. The Expo officially opens at 8:30 a.m. on November 7 and runs throughout the three days, featuring a wide range of sports, health care, and beauty brands.

This year’s race features a total prize pool of over VND 1 billion, along with valuable in-kind awards from sponsors. The entire course has been inspected, measured, and technically calibrated by experts from Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) to meet international standards, ensuring safety and optimizing the race experience for all participants.
Notably, the start and finish area at the Quan Ngua Sports Palace leads to a nearly 10km flat stretch along West Lake, regarded as one of the most scenic routes in the capital. This setting promises to be an ideal venue for runners to set new personal bests and records as they conquer the Standard Chartered Hanoi Marathon – Heritage Race 2025.
