VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 To Set Start Gates To Limit Infections
26/02/2022 - 07:49

The VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021, Vietnam's leading professional race, will split the Start gate for the March 6 race to ensure runners' safety amid the pandemic.

The Race Organizing Committee (ROC) of the marathon will split the Start gate into 10 doors based on the results registered by the 600 Full Marathon runners, who have been selected from nearly 1,500 applicants, instead of gathering all the runners at the Start line as in previous seasons.

This is part of the solutions to stay in tune with the distancing rule and reduce the risk of infection as the pandemic still shows complicated development.

The VPBank Hanoi Marathon to be held on March 6, 2022 is the last race to select runners to participate in the 31st SEA Games.

Located on Le Duc Tho street, next to the main gate of the National Sports Complex, the marathon's Start gate will consist of 10 doors, each will carry a sign indicating a symbol from G01 to G10. Here, volunteers will guide runners to the right door as indicated on their Bibs.

The doors are separated by soft dividers which are easily collapsible, thus they won't affect runners' safety at their start and during the competition.

Professional and non-professional runners with results below 3 hours will be placed at gate G01 onwards, at gates G02, G03... When there is a signal to start, the doors will open simultaneously.

Runners' results are calculated based on the chip time, so the start at each gate will not affect their competition results.

The VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021's ROC is ready with the best measures and solutions so that runners can compete safely and achieve the best results.

The ROC hopes that runners will have a highly special and proud experience when participating in the race that is considered the most attractive these days.
