ANNOUNCEMENT: VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 Recruits Volunteers

Registration (link here) started on November 9 and expires on November 24, 2021.

Tentative Race Date: December 26, 2021.

The team of volunteers will support runners before, during and after the race, with the route stretching up to 42.195 km. At the VPBank Hanoi Marathon, this running course is a completely non-repetitive route, passing by many historical sites of the capital. This unique feature of the marathon also poses significant challenges for the ROC and the volunteer team, who will have to work with the utmost dedication and responsibility for the runners' safety and success.

In addition to the benefits and incentives (details below), the successful volunteer will get professional and methodical training from experts and coaches of the Vietnam Athletics Federation.

Becoming a VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 volunteer is also a special opportunity for participants to meet up with top runners of the national athletics team, famous Elite runners and many interesting experiences as an insider of a world-class marathon.

1/Vacancy

a. Volunteer Team Manager (242 positions)

- 01 VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2022 Bib (The distance on the Bib is based on the number of volunteer members supervised by the Team Manager. The Bib name can be entered once, that of a friend or a relative, non-transferable and not eligible for distance changing. The ROC will notify the selected volunteers in detail).

2/Requirements for volunteers

- Enthusiastic, positive attitude and responsible for the assignment

- Passion for volunteering, help and support of runners

- Commitment to join all the training sessions for volunteers (Detailed time in section 3)

- The ROC prioritizes for volunteers who are runners in order to be able to handle situations on the track, and those runners who have volunteer's experience.

- Full vaccination against COVID-19 (the second shot has been administered 14 days or more) by December 19, 2021 and/or a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 within the past 6 months.

3/Timelines

3.1 Registration deadline: November 10-24, 2021

3.2 Test:

+ November 25, 2021: The ROC emails the exam test to the candidates

+ November 30, 2021: Deadline for candidates to submit the test

3.3 Announcement of the list of qualified candidates: December 1-4, 2021

3.4 Training (2-3 sessions)

+ Sunday, December 5, 2021 (online): for Volunteer Team Managers and key volunteers

+ Sunday, December 12 (online): for Volunteer Team Managers and key volunteers

+ Sunday, December 19 (offline or online): all volunteers' groups

Held annually since 2018, the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become Hanoi’s official race and won recognition to be a member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) since 2019, with a running track standardized by AIMS experts and the Vietnam Athletics Federation. Runners’ results, in addition to be qualified for competing in the 31st SEA Games, are still recognized to qualify for the prestigious Boston Marathon. The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has joined the Age Group Ranking System of Abbott World Marathon Majors, counting from 2022.
