ANNOUNCEMENT: VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 Prize Structure

The VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021, Vietnam's leading professional race, has announced the National Record-Breaking Prize in the prize structure for the upcoming race day, in addition to the usual categories for the professional and non-professional leagues.

On March 6, 2022, 600 runners, who are bright stars from the National Team and many non-professional runners from provinces and cities across the country selected by the Race Organizing Committee, will set foot on the FM track (42,195 km) scheduled for the 31st SEA Games marathon at My Dinh National Sports Complex in Hanoi.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation, commented: "Cooperating with non-professional races with high professionalism such as the VPBank Hanoi Marathon has both helped national athletic runners get more opportunities to compete, and at the same time created great motivation for runners to practice and improve performance. This is also the first time in Vietnam's history of running that a marathon has announced a big prize for breaking the national record."

The marathon's current record is 2:27:20 for male runners, set by Trinh Quoc Luong at the VPBank Hanoi Marathon ASEAN 2020, and 2:55:42 for female runners set by Pham Thi Hong Le at the VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2019.

The VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 will have the following prize categories:

- National Record-Breaking Prize: for Men/Women

- Prizes for the Professional League: First, Second and Third Prize for Men/Women

- Prizes for the Non-professional League: First, Second and Third Prize for Men/Women

The Race Organizing Committee of the VPBank Hanoi Marathon wishes the runners a great day of competition with high achievements, and will look forward to welcoming the best runners on the prestigious podium.
